GENERAL FUNCTION

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry- to Mid-Level Programmer with experience in HTML5, C#, Python, or a combination of these languages to join our Audio Visual (AV) Integration Team. The successful candidate will assist in programming, configuring, and testing Crestron, Extron and other control systems used in federal government environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading AV technologies while contributing to the successful delivery of client projects.

As a Programmer on iSoft’s Technical and Professional Services Team, you must exemplify exceptional communication, organization and leadership skills with strong technical experience in the integration of audiovisual, video conferencing and closely related technologies to support the delivery of turn-key solutions. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of HTML, an interest in learning complementary technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, Crestron, AMX or Extron control system, AV systems signal flow and responsive design aspects.

 

EDUCATION

Required: Successful Completion HTML related courses

Preferred: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

Required: Internship, coursework, or personal projects in web development are a plus.

General knowledge of audio-visual systems are a plus

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Lead Programmer, PSE’s & Jr PSE’s regarding the overall design and planning of the upcoming project or task.
• Review engineered drawings and statements of work and collaborate with Design Engineering on any questions, considerations, and potential changes.
• Provide software configuration and programming functions and support (ie. VTC, DSP, control system programming).
• Provide focused on-site and/or backend support in the final programming, testing, and commissioning of projects.
• Perform QA/QC checks onsite and provide constructive feedback to technician crews.
• Assist in planning, implementation, as needed, and testing of audiovisual and VTC projects within the budgeted timeline provided.
• Obtain customer sign-off at completion.
• Maintain and update technical and project documentation to reflect every aspect of the project’s progress.
• Support both new project installations as well as maintenance/service requirements at the direction Project Managers or Service Coordinator.\
• Be prepared to perform installation and incorporate into your design the following (but not limited to): large displays, video walls, projectors and screens, Smart boards, speakers, amplifiers, audio/video switchers, mixers, DSP’s, microphones, control systems, and video conferencing units.
• Mark up AV design drawings and documents to reflect actual field (installed /as-built) conditions for the purpose of accurate drawings.
• Be available to travel for out-of-town projects for extended periods of time when dictated by project requirements.
• Be flexible for working off-hours and overtime as required by project deadlines, including nights and weekends on a limited basis.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to implement user interface layouts and content structures.
• Ensure panel websites are structured for usability and accessibility (cross-browser compatibility may not apply due to proprietary nature of panel interfaces).
• Assist with updating and maintaining existing code templates and digital content as directed.
• Test, troubleshoot, and fix basic layout or formatting issues.
• Learn and apply best practices for responsive and user-friendly design.
• Develop and maintain clean, accessible, and standards-based HTML code for AV panel web pages and applications.
• Conduct functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and support the resolution of defects related to HTML structure and formatting.
• Document code, processes, and updates in accordance with departmental standards.
• Remain current with emerging trends and technologies related to web development.
• Conduct work in compliance with national, state and local electrical and safety codes; telecommunications industry standards; materials manufacturer specifications; and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of programming, system configuration, and project updates.
• Learn and apply Crestron development tools (SIMPL, SIMPL+ and Crestron Studio/VT Pro-e) to real-world projects.
• Support system integration by working with AV, IT, and networking teams to ensure seamless functionality
• Stay current on AV technologies, Crestron software updates, and control system best practices.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in varied conditions including outdoor environments and confined spaces. Erect and work on scaffolding, tall ladders, and motorized lifts.
• Provide technical leadership to the department in conjunction with Management and the PSE team.
• Assist Design engineers in vetting / reviewing new technology to use in solution packages.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical training/experience).
• Basic knowledge of programming logic and languages (HTML5, C#, Python or similar preferred).
• Familiarity with AV systems, networking, or electronics is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and obtain Crestron certifications (e.g., Crestron Certified Programmer)
• Advanced Audio DSP programming training will be required.
• Crestron, Extron, AMX Control system programming training required.
• Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable, with excellent work ethics.
• Audiovisual/videoconferencing manufacturer experience and training, certifications a plus.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• CTS or CTS-I Certification preferred but not required.
• Physical condition to perform job duties including seeing / hearing; feeling / handling / reaching; bending / crouching / squatting / kneeling / pushing / pulling / lifting / carrying weights more than 50 pounds; tolerance for prolonged walking or standing on various surfaces.
• Work methods must follow national, state and local electrical and safety codes; telecommunications industry standards; materials manufacturer specifications; and customer requirements.
• Hold Secret Clearance or have eligibility to immediately attain a Security Clearance to support our DoD clients.
• Familiarity with CSS3 for styling and layout.
• Exposure to JavaScript for interactivity.
• Knowledge of responsive frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
• Experience using version control
• Foundational knowledge of HTML and web page structure.
• Understanding of accessibility and usability principles.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience gained through academic projects, internships, or personal development work.
