FIELD TECHNICIAN III - TRAVEL REQUIRED
Job Summary
The Field Tech III is an entry-level position responsible for learning the basic operational elements of heavy civil and environmental services. Under close supervision, the Field Tech III will gradually gain experience and familiarity with the equipment, techniques, and safety protocols used in heavy civil construction and environmental services, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
1. Assist with general labor tasks under the guidance of experienced field technicians and supervisors.
2. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
3. Responsible for fueling and greasing equipment every shift at the direction of supervisors.
4. Complete equipment service logs and checklists for equipment such as dredges, boats, centrifuges, booster pumps, excavators, forklifts or any other equipment as assigned.
5. Monitors dredge spud and anchor cables for wear and replace/repair when necessary.
6. Inspects all mooring lines and replace when needed.
7. Complete daily boat maintenance log/checklist.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during construction and environmental services operations.
9. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion ofprojects.
10. Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs to advance towards higher-level Field Tech positions.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of construction and environmental services
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks
Salary & Benefits
· Field Technician III pay is $18-$21/hour depending on experience and education. Our compensation package includes the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k and PTO. Dredgit provides housing and per diem (currently $40/day) while traveling and/or on a jobsite.
