What You’ll Do…

This position is located in Houston, TX. Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.

The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time in-person internships. The summer 2026 internship is expected to begin on May 17, 2026.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Applying Generative AI to automate data interpretation, scenario generation, and decision support across E&P workflows
• Designing agentic workflows that autonomously orchestrate data processing, model execution, and engineering decision support
• Utilizing generative machine learning techniques in subsurface modelling and analysis
• The application of machine learning to interactive subsurface interpretative workflows
• Employing machine learning to solve geophysical inverse problems
• Building federated learning architecture
• Developing models from satellite data to estimate greenhouse gas emission
• Simulating subsurface carbon storage projects
• Generating geomechanics models for wellbore stability prediction
• Developing reservoir proxy models for rapid simulation and optimization of field development scenarios

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
• PhD students with expertise in the field of geoscience, engineering, or computer science.
• Prior experience in scientific coding, data science, or machine learning is required.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.

• Corporate housing provided for the summer to those candidates who qualify.

Salary Range: $36/hour
