POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our client’s manufacturing team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will utilize Client's specifications, engineering drawings, certified electrical standards, and customer orders to ensure products meet all functional, safety, and quality requirements. You will be responsible for testing products at various stages of the manufacturing process, diagnosing technical issues, and maintaining accurate inspection and test records to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Utilize specifications, drawings, certified electrical standards, and customer orders to verify product compliance
  • Perform testing of products at various stages of the manufacturing process
  • Conduct standard testing processes on a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose errors or technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Verify materials, procedures, and mechanical/electrical systems to ensure product quality and functionality
  • Record inspection and testing results and maintain accurate test documentation and records
  • Ensure products adhere to customer requirements, electrical verbiage, and applicable standards
  • Verify electrical components and use meter equipment for testing and validation
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all equipment is in safe working condition
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve testing issues or equipment malfunctions
  • Follow all safety procedures when working on or near energized equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, schematics, and ladder diagrams
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical standards and verbiage to products
  • Proficiency in verifying electrical components and using electrical meter equipment
  • Ability to read and review engineering specifications and blueprints to confirm product conformance
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician certification
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical, commercial electrical, or facilities management environments
  • Awareness of electrical compliance standards and certifications (UL, ETL, CSA)
  • Understanding of electrical principles, components, and physics related to testing electrical equipment
  • Ability to use the NEC 2020 code book to ensure products meet code requirements
  • Knowledge of hazards associated with energized equipment and proper safety precautions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Analytical and computer skills, including experience with Epicor ERP/MRP or similar systems and Microsoft 365
